About Indian Leadership Forum against Trafficking (ILFAT)
ILFAT is a forum by the trafficked survivors for the trafficked survivors. The forum acts as a catalyst and convener for sharing expertise, insights, and evidences relevant to human trafficking in India, which are indicating systemic failure to combat these organized crimes. ILFAT engages in policy and law consultation processes as well as with the media to share their findings and experiences in order to strengthen the existing system.
About Tafteesh
Tafteesh is a coalition of survivors of human trafficking, lawyers, social workers, probation officers, psychologists, researchers, and human rights activists. They have come together to empower survivors of human trafficking to claim justice and to support governments to prevent and combat human trafficking.

The Labour laws in any country act as a tool to promote worker empowerment as well as worker protection. In India, four labour codes have recently been introduced in the Parliament to consolidate and amend labour legislation in the country. These codes, including the Code on Wages, 2019 (already passed), the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, and the Code on Social Security, 2020, are set to
replace forty-four labour laws.
Workers around the country have come out against recently passed labour codes as well as farm laws, among other issues. Amidst the protests and strikes it is important that we make an effort to break down the complexities of the present Labour Laws in India, specially the recently introduced Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, so that the general public is able to comprehend the laws and then analyse their impact, manifestations and pros and cons for labour welfare.
In this edition of #LetsTalkLabour, we will try to decode the labour laws in India and present them in a simplified way to aid the audience in comprehending not just the laws but also put them in context of the prevalent issues around labour rights and welfare.
