About the Institution

The College was started in the year 1948 as a Government law college and subsequently became  University Law College, Bangalore. The University Law College, Bengaluru is presently offering Five Year B.A.LL.B. (Honours) Programme and Two-Year LL.M. Programme with four specialization branches. The college and Department of studies are housed in the Jnanabharathi Campus of Bangalore University.University Law College, Bangalore is committed towards imparting quality education, promoting scientific tempo and blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The institution aims at pursuing academic excellence through teaching, research, publications and by providing access to all sections of the society to pursue higher education for promoting leadership qualities among students making them socially sensitive citizens.

About the MUN

University Law College would like to provide a platform for deliberation as we strongly propagate education through experience. As a law college which has a legacy of responding to the needs of the time, we have initiated the Model United Nations conference to highlight the importance of issues that concerns global diplomacy, humanity, peace and justice. Hence, we believe that an opportunity to host a Model United Nations would expand the learning horizons of the participants by exchange of viable solutions and diverse view-points. It would be pivotal for the students to understand the nuances and intricacies of international law and the functioning of the United Nations Organisation and develop a better understanding of the global community.

Committees and Agendas

ULC MUN 2020 will be simulating the following committees and the agendas:

United Nations Human Rights Council
1.Countering toxic narratives about refugees and migrants.
United Nations General Assembly- Disarmament and International Security

  1. Deliberating on JCPOA and analyzing the legal nuances of the NonProliferation Treaty in the 21st Century.
  2. Deliberating on developing framework for threats from fourth generation warfare.
    United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime
    1. Discussion on Criminal Justice Reforms with special emphasis on reformation in police structure and prison reforms and other alternatives to imprisonment.
    2. Discussing access to legal aid and legal defence.
    International Press
    Dates of the MUN: 2nd, 3rd and 4th October 2020.

Registration Procedure

There are two types of registration- Individual delegate & Institutional delegation.

Please note that there should be at least
5 participants from an institution and one delegate in each committee to qualify
as a delegation.
There is no registration fee for the participants.
Exclusive training sessions will be arranged upon request from participating
institutions
