The Society for International Trade and Competition Law, an academic society of the WB National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS) is pleased to announce an annual essay competition in memory of its alumnus, Ms. Reema Ray, titled Reema Ray Gold Medal Essay Competition in Business Law – 2014.
The Gold Medal will be awarded for the best original essay on a particular topic in the broad realm of Business Law. The topic for each annual edition of the competition will be announced on Reema’s birthday, the 27th of May.

Arbitrating Competition Law Issues: A critical analysis in the context of the Indian competition and arbitration law regimes

Rules:
The Competition is open to only LL.B. students studying in any of the recognized Law Schools / Colleges / Departments of Universities in India.
Essay should be original (not published earlier or extracted from other sources) in English. Every submission will go through turnitin, and plagiarized entries will be rejected.
Every submission must separately contain a C.V. attached in the email, stating the details of the author. Co-authorship is not permitted.
Essay should not exceed 6,000 words (Arial, font size 11) including footnotes and references.
Soft copy of the essay should be submitted by e-mail on [email protected]. Every email containing the entries will have the subject of email as ‘Reema Ray Gold Medal Essay Competition in Business Law – 2014’.
The soft copies of the essay should reach on or before 31 July 2014 by 11:59 p.m.
Prizes:
1st prize: Rs. 15,000 + Gold Medal (with certificate) + Recommendation to NUJS Law Review for publication.
2nd prize: Rs. 8,000 with Certificate.
3rd prize: Rs. 5,000 with Certificate.
Additionally ‘special mention’ certificates would be announced on the recommendation of the panel of judges.
