Professor Nishtha Jaswal has been appointed as the first female Vice Chancellor of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University-Jaipur

Professor Nishtha Jaswal has assumed the role of Vice-Chancellor at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University-Jaipur, marking a historic milestone as the institution’s first female leader. Boasting over thirty years of teaching and research expertise, Professor Jaswal specializes in Constitutional law, Administrative law, Human Rights, and Environmental law. Her academic accomplishments include the publication of over fifty research papers and the authorship of at least four books, with a notable achievement as a gold medalist during her college years.

Recognized for her contributions to the field, Professor Jaswal received a Visiting Professorship award from the British Academy in 1992. Throughout her illustrious career, she has served in various capacities, including membership in the Chandigarh State Legal Services Authority, the Punjab Legal Services Authority, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee of the Chandigarh Judicial Academy, and the Academic Planning Board of the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law.

Her extensive involvement also extends to roles such as a member of the Board of Studies for several universities, including Kurukshetra University, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Himachal Pradesh University, and the University Institute of Legal Studies at Panjab University. Before assuming the position of Vice-Chancellor at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University-Jaipur, Professor Jaswal held the esteemed role of Vice Chancellor at HPNLU Shimla.
