The Inaugural edition of the Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition 2024 (HIMCC) which had a record 40 teams including three international teams witnessed School of Law, UPES Dehradun, winning the coveted trophy of the 1st HIMCC 2024. The team of Ms. Muskan Sethi, Ms. Ananya Nandwana & Mr. Mukul Khandelwal received a record prize of Rs Two Lakhs.
The Institute of Law, Nirma University was adjudged as the runner-up with a price of Rs 150000 consisting of Ms. Aditi Bharadwaj Ms. Kopal Ved & Mr. Shashwat Ranjan. The National Law University, Delhi, won the best memorial award. Ms. Muskan Sethi from UPES, Dehradun won the best speaker award, and Ms. Bhagyashree Tiwari from National Law University, Jodhpur, won the best researcher award.
Prof Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU remarked, “The Inaugural edition of HIMCC is the beginning of Internationalization of Moots in India and it is all set to become global in the coming years”
The event had 120 participants of 40 teams and 80 Judges drawn from Academica, Bar and Bench were hosted to stay in the campus with hectic schedules of rounds conducted seamlessly. The Inaugural of the event had Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Uikey, Vice Chancellor of MNLU Mumbai delivering the address. The Final rounds had eminent Jurist list of Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Pro-Chancellor of IILM & Distinguished Jurist Professor of HNLU, Shri Prafull Bharat, Advocate General of Chhattisgarh; Mr. Bharat V. Budholiya, Partner at AZB & Partners; Dr. Uday Shankar, Associate Professor, IIT Kharagpur; and Mr. Muralidharan R., Patent & Trademark Attorney, Manu Associates and also graced the valedictory ceremony as Guests of Honour.
The professional conduct of the event was managed by Dr. Anindhya Tiwari, Secretary of HIMCC with Co-Secretaries Shri Amitesh Deshmukh, Shri Abhinav Shukla, Shri Mayank Shrivastava & Dr. Ankit Singh along with Anirudh, Amartya, Rahul & Smita, student convenors & Co-convenors of the HNLU Moot society. The Valediction had the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Yogendra Srivastava, Dean-PG Studies and vote of thanks by Dr. Vipan Kumar, Registrar (I/c).
