The National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) invites applications in the prescribed application form for admission to both Full Time & Part Time:
- (i) Ph. D. in Law;
- (ii) Ph.D. (Inter-disciplinary); and
- (iii) Ph.D. in Cyber Law and Information Security
For Candidates of Ph.D. in Cyber Law and Information Security (Both Full Time & Part Time): the All India Written Test consists of the following three papers for a total of 100 marks:
- (a) Research Methodology,
- (b) Cyber Law
- (c) Information Security
- (d) Fundamentals of Information Technology
The prescribed Application Form, All India Admit Card Form and Important Instructions may be downloaded from www.nliu.ac.in. Application Form Fee: Rs. l,500/- (One Thousand Five Hundred Only) by way of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director, the National Law Institute University, payable at Bhopal or through electronic transfer. The details of which must be enclosed with the Application Form. Instructions
- These instructions are in furtherance to the notification given for Admission to Ph. D. Program 2021-22 published in the newspaper and uploaded on www.nliu.ac.in.
- The candidates have to clearly state in the application form: (a) the course applied for, i.e. (i) the Ph.D. in Law, (ii) Ph.D. in Cyber Law and Information Security or (iii) Ph.D. Interdisciplinary in Law; and (b) the Type of Ph.D applied, i.e. Full Time or Part Time.
- In case a candidate is eligible for more than one course, he/she may apply separately.
- The Admission to Ph. D. programs shall be governed by the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
Procedure for award of M. Phil / Ph. D. Degree), Regulations 2016 as amended from time to time and the National Law Institute University Rules for Ph. D. Programs.
- The candidates without NET/SLET/JRF are eligible for admission to Ph.D. program but shall appear in the All India Entrance Test and the Personal Interview organised by the NLIU Bhopal.
- The candidates who have qualified UGC NET/JRF/SLET need not to appear in All India Written Test, but shall have to appear for interview before the Interview Board on the notified date and time.
- The candidates employed in any Institution/Organization may apply for admission to the Ph. D. program 2021-22 along with the ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) obtained from their respective Department/Institution.
- Every candidate admitted to the Ph.D. program shall be required to stay in Bhopal for the duration of the course work as notified by the university.
- There are three types of Ph. D. Programs offered by the NLIU: (i) Application Fee of Rs. 1,500 (One Thousand Five Hundred Only) and in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST/PWD category Rs 1,000 (One Thousand Only) by way of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the “Director, the National Law Institute University, Bhopal”. The candidate must clearly write his/her full name, date of birth and telephone number on the back of the Demand Draft OR through electronic transfer using Payment Gateway service available on university website.
