Key job responsibilities
The role requires working on compliances related to Environment, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Product Safety and Assurance (like food, drug & cosmetics, medical devices, chemical and hazardous substances, legal metrology, BIS) laws and regulatory regime, and supporting cross functional teams on initiatives under Sustainability and Social Responsibility policy of the Company. The role requires working cross-functionally with technical teams to shape compliance strategy, advising on upcoming regulatory changes and how to influence them, driving adoption of global policies and procedures in India and counseling compliance partner teams around complex issues. You will be responsible for handling pre-litigation disputes, managing outside counsel support, and generally providing day-to-day advice to the IN Ops Compliance, Environment & WHS teams in coordination with others on the legal team. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for and implementing process improvements.

A day in the role would require you to be enthusiastic, pragmatic,being challenged and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations with practical risk calibration.
About the team
This position will be based in Bangalore and reports to the Director and AGC. You will be required to lead a team, as team manager. This role will give you an opportunity to join a collaborative, tight-knit team that is pioneering exciting initiatives as part of a business that is making history. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in law
• 15+ years of post-qualification experience in a large professional setting
• 10+ years of focus on legal compliances and advising businesses on issues emanating from compliances
• High degree of independence, initiative, decisiveness, and creative thinking, as well as a desire to be challenged
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A mix of law firm and in-house experience
• Excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated experience in writing successfully for a diverse range of audiences
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to be a partner to business stakeholders
