International Day of the Girl Child celebrated by Department of Women and Child Development on 11.10.2021 at Shah Auditorium, Civil Lines, Delhi at 9:00 AM

In order to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, 2021, Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of NCT of Delhi organised a social awareness session. The programme was graced by the presence of Sh. Manish Sisodia, Honā€™ble Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of NCT of Delhi as a Chief Guest along with Sh. Rajendra Pal Gautam, Honā€™ble Minister, WCD, Govt. of NCT of Delhi and Ms. Swati Maliwal, Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women. The Programme was moderated by Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Special Secretary cum Director and Sh. Madhup Vyas, IAS, Secretary cum Commissioner.

Ms. Neeti Suri Mishra, Ld. Secretary, Central District Legal Services Authority was invited to conduct a session to apprise the girls and women regarding various legal aid schemes and women-specific legislations of the Central and State Government. She apprised the audience about the work done and services offered by Central District Legal Services Authority at Tis Hazari Court, Delhi and disseminated information regarding the social and statutory rights of the women as entailed under various women-specific legislations like Indian Penal Code, 1860, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 etc. She further spoke about the PAN INDIA AWARENESS AND OUTREACH CAMPAIGN of NALSA. She informed the audience about how DSLSA and CDLSA has worked to spread legal awareness amongst women and girls by conducting legal awareness camps, setting up help desks, sending legal aid counsels to Saheli Samanvayak Kendras, Mahila Panchayats, Anganwadis so that women and girls in general be made aware about their rights-both statutory and Constitutional.

The programme was attended by 455 participants approximately and was a huge hit. Secretary, Central DLSA was successful in promoting the motto of ā€œACCESS TO JUSTICE FOR ALLā€.
