Concept Note: Thematic Introduction Globalization being a process of integration and transformation of economies, political systems and societal change has affected environment, education and culture and has made the world interdependent.
Canada is one of the most globally integrated countries in the world, with a highly advanced system of communication and information technology, a government that is active in international organisations, an economy that is dependent on trade, a population that travels abroad frequently, and a society composed of individuals from
a myriad of cultural backgrounds.
India too has been swayed by the whirlwind of relentless and disruptive change brought by globalisation that has left a trail of economic, social, cultural and environmental problems in its wake which has forced businesses, educational institutions, cultural spaces to re-think and change their traditional policies and practices.
Mainly focussing on environment, education and culture, the Conference will discuss the following issues (though not limited) with reference to globalisation in Canada
and India.

• Education and Innovation in knowledge society
• Global Learning
• Globalism and Capital Interests
• Literature, literary creation and author in global societies
• Canadian Studies in the global village

Organizational Details:
The three day Conference will be divided into four sections viz. Globalization, Environment, Education and Culture. Each session will have a lead paper (thirty
minutes) followed by others (fifteen minutes each).
Participation Criteria:
The Conference is open to teachers, research scholars and all those interested in serious academics. Presentation of papers is an essential pre-requisite for
participation. All papers and abstracts will be placed before a screening committee. Selected papers are likely to be published. Owing to the paucity of funds the
participants are expected to fund their own travel.
Registration Fee:
Participants are expected to register themselves and pay the registration fees in advance as per the following details, by sending a crossed demand draft drawn on the
State Bank of India, Allahabad University, Allahabad branch (Branch code 1621, IFSC Code SBIN0001621) in favour of “The Convener, International Conference – Canadian Studies”, which will take care of their lodging and board during the Conference.
• Outstation Participants: Rs 3500/- (with modest accommodation on sharing basis)
• Foreign delegates: US $ 150/- (with modest accommodation on sharing basis)
• Local participants: Rs 2000/- (without accommodation)
• Local Research Scholars: Rs 1550/-
Lodging will be provided on a shared basis. Those who wish to stay in the hotels should contact the hotels directly. A list of the hotels (various range) may be made  available on request as a help. A photocopy of the Registration Form is acceptable and the last date for Registration is November 30, 2014. Early confirmation about  participation / arrival is requested. The registration fee is not refundable. The registration fee from the outstation participant will take care of board and lodging  from the morning of the 5th to evening of the 7th. The conference will begin at about 9 am on the 5 th and come to an end on the 7th with evening tea. All participants are expected to stay until the end of the conference on the 7th.
