1. About the Competition
Client counselling is a crucial skill for law students. Lawyers provide legal advice to clients, helping them understand their rights and legal situations. This competition will include problems based on civil and criminal laws.
2. About K.R. Mangalam University
K.R. Mangalam University is a private university in Haryana, empowered to award degrees under Section 21 of the UGC Act, 1956.

5. School of Legal Studies
Offers BCI-approved five-year integrated law programs (BBA LL.B. (H), BA LL.B. (H), B.Com LL.B.), a three-year LL.B. (H), and a one-year LL.M. program.
6. Client Counselling Committee
Organizes lectures, workshops, and competitions to help law students develop professional skills and client counselling techniques.
7. Pro Bono Club
Provides free legal aid, collaborates with Nyaya Bandhu panel of High Courts, and helps law students engage in public interest litigation.
8. Legal Aid Committee
Works under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, to offer free legal aid and promote legal awareness among underprivileged communities.
EVENT DETAILS: INTER-UNIVERSITY CLIENT COUNSELLING COMPETITION, 2025
Eligibility:
Open to full-time law students (3-year or 5-year law programs).
Team Composition:
- Each team must have two participants (Counsel 1 & Counsel 2).
- Only one team per institution is allowed.
Registration & Important Dates:
- Early Bird Registration (Till 10th Feb): ₹1200 per team
- Regular Registration (After 10th Feb): ₹1500 per team
- Last Date for Registration: 20th February 2025
Rules & Regulations:
- Official language: English.
- Dress code:
- Male: White shirt, black pants, black coat, black shoes.
- Female: White shirt, black trousers, black coat, black shoes.
- Advocates’ gowns, bands, and robes are prohibited.
- No accommodation or travel allowance provided.
- Judges’ decisions are final.
Grounds for Disqualification:
- Revealing identity to judges or other participants.
- Attempting to influence judges.
- Engaging in misconduct or offensive speech.
Competition Format:
Preliminary Round (Online – 27th February 2025)
- 20 minutes for consultation, 10 minutes for post-consultation.
- Qualification:
- If Quarter-Finals are not held: Top 4 teams proceed to Semi-Finals.
- If Quarter-Finals are held: Top 8 teams proceed to Quarter-Finals.
Quarter-Final Round (Conditional, Online – 27th February 2025)
- Only conducted if participants exceed 16 teams.
- 25 minutes for consultation, 10 minutes for post-consultation.
- Top 4 teams qualify for Semi-Finals.
Semi-Final Round (Offline – 19th March 2025)
- 30 minutes for consultation, 10 minutes for post-consultation.
- Top 2 teams qualify for the Final Round.
Final Round (Offline – 19th March 2025)
- 40 minutes for consultation, 10 minutes for post-consultation.
Participants exceeding the time limit will be muted by the room coordinator.

Client problems will be shared 72 hours before the competition. Separate problems will be provided for the semi-final and final rounds.
