About the Workshop
ILS Centre for Arbitration (ILSCA) in association with Peacekeeping and Conflict Resolution Team (PACT) is organizing a four day workshop on “Mediation and Principles of Domestic & International Arbitration”.  This workshop will provide participants with core mediation skills and hands-on experience through a variety of simulations.
The first two days of workshop – 20 and 21 January 2018 are dedicated to training in Arbitration and its core skills.
The next two days – 22 and 23 January 2018 are fixed for Mediation training sessions.

  4. Catherine Davidson, Trainer for the Australian Disputes Centre and head of Catherine Davidson Mediation Services (CDMS).
  5. Jonathan Rodrigues, Accredited Mediator at IIAM, Commercial Mediator trained under the aegis Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA).
  6. Pascal Comvalius, IMI Certified Mediator, A MFN registered mediator in Holland.

Structure of the Workshop
Day One: January 20, 2018 (Saturday)
Session 1: Introduction to Basic Principles of Domestic Arbitration
Session 2: Validity of Excepted Matters and Exclusion Clauses
Session 3: Impact of the 2015 Amendment and Sri Krishna Committee Report on Statutory Arbitrations. Prospective applicability of Section 26 of the 2015 Amendment Act.

Day Two: January 21, 2018 (Sunday)
Session 1: Introduction to Basic Principles of International Commercial Arbitration.
Session 2: Application of UNIDROIT Principles /International Conventions to International Commercial Arbitrations as Substantive Law Governing the Contract.
Session 3: Impact of the 2015 Amendment on International Commercial Arbitrations.

Day Three: January 22, 2018 (Monday)
Session 1: ‘How to convene a Mediation session-Keys to Preparation ’

Registration procedure

  1. Registration fee is inclusive of certificates, reading material and lunch and tea (for the entire workshop). Please note that accommodation will not be provided. ILS Students: Rs 2500/- + GST (18%); Non-ILS Students: Rs3500/- + GST (18%); Professionals – Rs. 5000/- GST (18%)
  2. Registrations start from November 25, 2017. In order to register for the Workshop, kindly click this link.
  3. When, once your registration is complete with the appropriate and correct details, you shall receive a confirmation email from the OC through the Official email id of the Workshop ([email protected]) with the link required to make the payment.
  4. Please note that the Payment link will expire and the slot revoked if the payment is not made within 5 daysfrom the day the Participant receives the link from the Organizing Committee. Payment once made is not refundable. In case of Slot revocation, the next waitlisted candidate will receive the confirmation mail and the instructions for payment.
  5. The last date of registration is January 10, 2018. Register at the earliest possible; as the seats are limited to only 80. (FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS).
  6. Note: The fee does not include accommodation. Accommodation will not be provided for participants.

Payment Instructions
Payment can be made online. The payment link will be sent to the given email id at the registration portal.
Please check the email id provided at the time of registration for the confirmation of the slot and the link for the Payment from the Organizing Committee. Further instructions to make payment will be sent through email provided.
Submit the hard copy of the Payment Receipt at the time of Workshop.
The participants will be awarded three certificates:

  1. One certificate for Mediation Workshop;
  2. One Certificate for Training
  3. One Certificate for Arbitration Workshop.

(Attendance is compulsory for all the sessions; otherwise certificates shall not be awarded.)
