Hadiya's Case: SC questioned its earlier findings

Hadiya’s Case has taken the new turn, today while hearing the matter SC was seen bewildered on its previous findings. Bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra questioned a Kerala high court order in May that annulled the marriage between Hadiya, who converted to Islam, and Shafin Jahan.
SC also expressed its inclination by questioned its earlier order directing the National Investigative Agency to probe the alleged forced conversion and marriage of a Hindu woman in Kerala.
Kerala HC grant the custody of 24 year girl to his father, whereby during an interview she has been held as hostage with his father against her wishes, upon which Supreme Court made it clear that a 24 year old girl, an adult, cannot be held hostage by her father against her wishes.
Justice RV Raveendran was to head the NIA probe, however, former judge had expressed the inability to do the assignment due to his busy schedule and other personal issues.
