Delhi HC: After breaking up some women denotes consensual intercourse as rape

A woman placed an appeal before Delhi High Court against acquittal order passed by Trial Court, she registered a case of rape against husband before marrying the man in 2015, However during trial, she turned hostile before the lower court which led the acquittal of accused.
Before the commencement of trial both approached high court and the Supreme Court for quashing of the FIR on the ground that they wished to get married. Now, when the relationship between them got estranged, she files an appeal against the acquittal order, recently, she also filed a Domestic Violence case against his husband.
Hon’ble Justice Pratibha Rani who adjudged the matter observed that in many cases where both persons, out of their own will and choice, develop consensual physical relationship, when the relationship breaks up due to some reason, the women use the law as a weapon for vengeance and personal vendetta and tend to convert such consensual acts as an incidents of rape.
