The commencement of the University has fulfilled the aspirations of the people of the Marathwada region for an institution of national importance in Aurangabad. The University presently has a strength of close to 400 students in various courses and pursuing various degrees. The University is conducting its 1st National Conference on Tourism Laws as a joint venture between the Centre for World Affairs and the Centre for Research in International Comparative Laws in the upcoming even semester of the academic year 2022-23.

Introduction to the Theme: Developments post-2015 have led to the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development along with Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, Goals 8, 12 and 14, are directly and indirectly connected to tourism. Sustainable tourism is firmly positioned in the 2030 Agenda. Tourism is a booming sector, in spite of its positive effects, negative effects of tourism cannot be side-lined. However, in case of India, tourism is governed by direct and indirect legislation pertaining to various facets of tourism industry and inter-related affairs.
