Following the resignation by former Senior-most judge of Karnataka High Court Justice Jayant Patel for not being elevated as Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, Senior Advocate Dushayant Dave openly condemned the transfer of Justice Jayant Patel to Allahabad HC so as to impede him to become a Chief Justice.
Dushyant Dave denigrated collegium for lack of transparency and put questions on appointment of Justice Dipak Mishra as CJI, further, made degraded remarks against CJI and said I did not expect much from the Honâble Chief Justice since he is compromised because of serious allegations against him in the Kalikho Pul suicide note and the CBI case pending against him.
Considering the above, Bar Council of India issued the Show Cause Notice to Dushyant Dave for âDerogatory Commentsâ Against CJI & Collegium, SCBA also deprecate the move by Senior Advocate.  However, Gujrat HC bar council came in support of Dushyant Dave and requested the Bar Council of India (BCI) to withdraw the show cause notice issued to Mr. Dave, âin the larger public interest and administration of justiceâ.
Gujrat HC bar association also approached SC against the transfer of Justice Jayant Patel and seeking transparency in collegium.
