Prof.Dr.Faizan Mustafa( Chief Advisor Law Mantra)
Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, got this year’s prestigious SAARC’s Best Law Teacher Award. A high-powered jury conferred this award on Prof. Mustafa, announced Prof. N.R. Madhav Menon and Mr. Lalit Bhasin, president of Indian Law Firms. The award, which carries Rs. 1lakh, citation and a plaque, would be given by the Union Law Minister at a function in New Delhi on September, a press release said.
Prof. Mustafa has introduced several courses such as Intellectual Property Rights, International Human Rights Law and Tourism Laws at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). At NALSAR, he designed and taught new courses. Presently, he is the only academic, who is the member of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), headed by the Chief Justice of India.
Prof. Mustafa, who is also the founder Vice-Chancellor of National Law University, Orissa, has written seven books and contributed more than 120 articles and was awarded India’s first Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Law. He has also written a book on religious conversion. India’s only book on ‘Strict Liability in Criminal Law’ was written by him in 1991 and he was awarded Commonwealth British Fellowship to further pursue this subject.
