CLAT does not decide the aptitude of a legally enthusiast. Three hours of solving a few multiple choice questions cannot decide the future of a Law student. But is really getting depressed over one simple fact of not clearing the CLAT exams put an end to someone’s career? I think NO. In today’s world NLU’s are not just everything for a law college. What makes a guaranteed career is the right blend of hard work that reflects on your CV and a well, educated and a supportive faculty. Vivekananda Law School is one such college.
There are those who whine about the fact that they could not crack CLAT and crib about it all their lives and there are those who forget the CLAT and take admission in a decent Law College and study with the ideology that hardwork and a good CV is what determines the future of a law student and not some random college under the CLAT umbrella. Vivekananda Law School is the best place for the second category of students who would want to work hard and get themselves successful in life without whining. This college gives the right blend of Management, Infrastructure and a supportive faculty to give that push a law student would require in life. Providing with all the modern teaching methodology to help a student learn more easily and effectively, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies was named as the best emerging college by a famous magazine.
The basic skills that a law student requires arecommunications skills and the practical knowledge of the working of a legal community. VLS clearly recognizes this fact and gives its law students a good platform to learn as well as portray the legal skills that they have. The college regularly conducts moot courts and Parliamentary debate competitions that can sharpen the debating and communication skills of a student and gives him/her the practical idea of the working of a court. The college conducts an annual International Moot Court Competition where students from all law students, whether India or abroad are offered to participate and this event has turned out be a success always. It is generally the High Court or even Supreme Court Judges that judge a moot court event so as to give the final perfection to the event.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Giving full realization to this quote, the college not only provides for curricular activities but also extra- curricular. Debate society, Photography society, MUN Society and a Street Play society are some of the other extra- curricular activities promoted by the college. Unlike some colleges that are run for money making business, Vivekananda Law School is run with a view to enhance the knowledge of a student and help him/her succeed in future by providing the right amount of knowledge and skills. The present Principal Director of the college is the ex- Vice Chancellor of NLSIU Bangalore and he has in a bigger way attracted the Law market to the college.
Academically VLS students have been topping the University results for a few years now and that shows the level of intellect of the students and the hardwork of the faculty and management in making the students proficient in what they do. Students from VLS are all out there from working in the Big Shot Law firms in India to the Judicial Services.
In a nutshell, VLS could be a good substitute for a student who has missed out on his/her CLAT but displays the same talent as the students who are sitting there in the NLU’s. However, the placement cell of VLS could be improved in a bigger way so that it helps the law students not only to get good internships but also give them great placement opportunities.
