Call for Papers: KIIT Student Law Review; Submit by Sep. 15, 2014

KSLR(ISSN: 2348-4381) is the flagship Review of School of Law, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. KSLR invites original and unpublished papers for its Vol. 1 Issue 2.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
We welcome submissions for the following categories:

  • Articles ( Between 5000-7000 words exclusive of footnotes)

Articles should provide an in-depth study in various areas of the laws within the themes provided below. We intend to incorporate critical analysis and original assertions on the above mentioned theme.

  • Short articles ( Between 3000-5000 words exclusive of footnotes) 

Short articles should include condensed study on the recent developments in various fields of law. The nature of the writing should preferably include descriptive analysis and informed comments on any new ideas and perspectives.

  • Book Reviews ( Maximum 1200-1500 words) 

Book reviews should incorporate critical examination of a book on different branches of law, published two years preceding the release of the current issue of KSLR. All the book reviews must embody an assessment of ideas promoted by the author of the book from the point of view of originality, extent of analysis and quality.

  • Case Comments (Maximum 2500- 4000 words exclusive of footnotes) 

Case comments should include interpretation of any landmark judicial pronouncement in the light of below mentioned theme. Brief information regarding contribution to and digression from the existing laws will be appreciated.

  • Legislative Briefs( Maximum 2500 words)

Legislative briefs seek to determine the implications of any existing or proposed Indian legislation (both Central/State) in view of the below mentioned themes. Author/s may focus on any specific section/s or present an overview of the legislation.

*Poor Public Governance how far promotes efficient corporate governance of the Country?
2. CONSTITUTION LAW
*Mandatory Medical Tests of Foreign Students and Right to Equality.
*Should there be the Reservation of Transgenders in the field of Sports?
3. CRIMINAL LAW
*Restorative Justice and Community Sovereignty in administration Criminal Justice.
*Accountability of Investigations in Criminal Administration of Justice in India.
4. INTERNATIONAL LAW
*Oil Explorations in the Deep Sea: Legal Issues regards to oil field boundaries
*Need of uniform law on Coastal Regulation Zone in India for sustainable growth
*Law, Policy and Practice of Refugee Protection in India: The Benefits and Roadblocks.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW
*Tech-Transfer in Renewable Energy Sector – the legal challenges in India.
*Taxation of Intellectual Property in Indian Legal Regime.
6. TAXATION LAW
*Pricing methodology used in Advance Purchase Agreement in Indian Legal Framework.
7. GENERAL TOPICS
*Corporate Social Responsibility for Mining Company in developing infrastructures.
*Privatization of Aviation Sector in India – the Legal Challenges.
Writing guidelines

  1. All articles and short articles must be accompanied by an abstract (300 words). Abstracts are not required for book reviews, case comments or legislative briefs.
  2. The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, font size 12 and in 1.5 line spacing. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 and in single line spacing.
  3. Kindly send your manuscript in MS Word 2007 or higher format and the writings shall conform to the Blue book style of citation, 19th edition, 2010.
  4. Co authorship is permissible up to a maximum of two.

Copyright and anti-plagiarism guidelines:

  • It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that all references and citations are correct, and the submissions do not contain any material that infringes copyright or is defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful or litigious.
  • The copyright of the manuscript will vest with the KIIT Student Law Review. Due accreditation will be given to the authors.
  • Every submission shall be accompanied by declaration by the author/s to the effect that it is his or her original work and not published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • For the purpose of anonymity, the author/s shall not disclose their identities anywhere in the body of the manuscript.
  • The submissions will undergo a double blind peer-review process.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right for modification of the manuscript to maintain the standard and quality of the submission. The board will notify its decision and other relevant information through email.

Cover letter
The mail should contain an attachment enumerating the following details:

  • Name of the author/s
  • Title of the manuscript
  • Name of the institution
  • Year of study( in case of a student)/ Designation (in other cases)
  • Email address
  • Contact number
