1st National Research Articles Competition on July 31 and Banking Round Table on May 10

The Centre for Studies in Banking and Finance is an initiative of the National Law University, Jodhpur, which works to generate awareness in the field of banking and finance laws and related contemporary issues by conducting workshops and seminars involving the participation of industry experts, professionals & academicians.
The Centre is conducting its 1st National Research Articles Competition on the broad theme of “lending by banks.”
This competition aims to raise student awareness and trigger a debate on the most recent issues and conflicts for formulating workable solutions in this area.
Contributions are invited from the academic fraternity of all national law schools of India on any of the following topics/sub-themes:
SME Financing
MFI Financing
Agricultural Loan
Education Loan

Round Table Discussion

The Center for Studies in Banking and Finance proposes to organize a round-table discussion on the broad theme of “Infrastructure and Housing Loan Default Risk.”
The discussions may capture some pivotal issues and concerns in this area, such as:
1. Due Diligence and credit rating of borrowers
2. Calculation of default probability
3. Impact of economic downturn in infrastructure and real estate sectors on the borrowers in these sectors
4. Management of credit concentration risk
5. Credit risk and Basel norms
6. Pre-mature loan repayment mechanism
7. Risk exposure in rural sector
The event will be conducted in the Board Room at National Law University, Jodhpur on 10 May 2014, from 3 p.m. onwards.
