ABOUT CENTRE FOR TRADE AND INVESTMENT LAW
The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) was established in 2016 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). The Centre’s primary objective is to provide sound and rigorous analysis of legal issues pertaining to international trade and investment law to the Government of India and other governmental agencies and to create a dedicated pool of legal experts who could provide technical inputs for enhancing India’s participation in international trade and investment negotiations and dispute settlement.
About Centre FOR ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, has been established to promote students’ and researchers’ interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution constituting dispute resolution methods like Arbitration, Negotiation, Mediation and Conciliation. CADR endeavours to promote and develop ADR as a vehicle of socio-economic and political justice.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The intent of Essay writing competition is to provide young writers a platform to test their adroitness for writing and an opportunity to explore a wide range of challenging and interesting questions beyond the routine college curriculum. The students are expected to analyze and suggest ways and means to establish a stronger and newer version of ADR practices around the world.
ELIGIBILITY and registration
The Competition shall be open to the students who are pursuing their B.A. LLB/ LLM/ PhD/ MPhil or any other Undergraduate or Masters courses (other than Law) in any university across the world. Registration fee will be ₹100 for a single author and ₹150 total for co-authors.
Format
In order to participate in the Competition, participants must submit a final draft which must be between 1500 and 2500 words, on the themes mentioned below, along with the receipt of payment of registration fee. The entries will then be reviewed by the Editorial Board, which will declare the results in consultation with the CTIL.
PRIZES
Top 3 author(s) to be provided with an opportunity to intern with CTIL and winner to be given Rs. 10,000 stipend.
Top 10 entries will be considered for publication on the CADR & CTIL website under the category of ‘Honorable Mention’. Certificate of Merit to top 10 entries under various themes. Participation Certificates (Digital) to all the participants.
