HPNLU ICSSR One-Day National Seminar on “Changing Dimensions of Higher Education: A New Vision” (4th June, 2023); Submit Abstract by May 25

About HPNLU: The Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla (HPNLU, Shimla), established by the State Government in 2016, by an Act of the Legislature (Act 16 of 2016), placed in the geographical terrains of the Himalayas, is among the premier law schools in India, offering integrated five-year undergraduate courses, post-graduate, PhD and LLD courses. The University is bestowed with all-natural conditions conducive of seeking, creating, and imparting knowledge and has witnessed tremendous growth through the plethora of initiatives taken for the holistic development of its students.

ABOUT THE CENTRE FOR HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT:The Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) was established in the year 2021 under the aegis of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla with the primordial focus of development of human resource by fostering growth and imbibing values in individuals.

Understanding the imperative necessity of human resource is of absolute pertinence in today’s day and age, as human resource summation of knowledge, skills, creative abilities, talents and aptitudes of a workforce that has incredible significance in the cardinal development and overall progress of an organization. Gathering the exigencies to understand the importance of human resource, HPNLU, Shimla bought to fore the CHRD.

CHRD provides a platform for individuals and organizations to gain valuable knowledge and skills that can help them achieve their goals. CHRD endeavors to accomplish that by organizing discussions, seminars, campaigns, conferences, and workshops on said subjects.

ABOUT THE INDIAN COUNCIL OF SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH:Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) was established in the year of 1969 by the Government of India to promote research in social sciences in the country.

ICSSR provide grants for projects, fellowships, international collaboration, capacity building, survey, publications etc. to promote research in social sciences in India. It Sponsors Seminars/Conferences in India to promote social science subjects and provides opportunities to researchers and academicians to exchange views and opinions on policy relevant issues.

ICSSR has developed ICSSR Data Service to serve as a national data service for promoting powerful research environment through sharing and reuse of data among social science community in India.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

Education is an essential tool for achieving sustainable development which promises to make the world more livable for this and future generation. Education is sharing knowledge and information.

The seminar will focus on strategies through sharing of ideas, experiences and case studies. After participating in the seminar, participants will be able to use a set of pedagogical levers that will expand their abilities to design and facilitate learning experiences and programs. Participants will be able to join a vibrant community of like-minded Educators to continue learning from one another after the seminar.

The objectives of the seminar are to familiarize the participants with the changing dimensions of Higher education in India; to share experiences on innovative initiatives at the institutional levels; and to discuss challenges in bringing about institutional transformation. The seminar will have special focus on:

CALL FOR PAPERS

The seminar invites research papers on the multidisciplinary subjects of knowledge expansion, technology revolution and sustainable development. In preparing the abstract of their proposed papers, we encourage prospective participants to engage with the highlighted theme of the seminar.

Kindly note that the seminar will be conducted in the PHYSICAL MODE at Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla.

5. National Education Policy -2020

The themes and subjects of the seminar are sufficiently broad to allow for as many as submissions as possible. However, HPNLU, Shimla reserves the right to select papers for final presentation at the seminar.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

The papers will be selected on a competitive basis. The selection process will be carried out jointly by a group of senior academicians. The application and selection criteria will be based on the following:

Quality of the abstract and paper;
Relevance to multidisciplinary subjects of knowledge expansion, technology revolution and sustainable development and the broad theme of the conference.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION:

The Abstract must be accompanied by a cover page, which should include the title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s) and their affiliations, resident country, and the complete postal and e-mail addresses and telephone numbers of the authors.

Co-authorship is allowed for up to two authors, including the main author.
The deadline to submit individual abstracts is 25th May, 2023. Please submit your abstract through email on c. [email protected] . Participants will be notified by the 27th of May, 2023 on the status of their submission.

Accepted abstracts will be notified through email (You must provide a valid email address with each abstract submission). Upon acceptance of abstracts, full papers must be submitted by 1st June, 2023. page8image2033525488

RESEARCH PAPER AND ABSTRACT FORMAT:

Word Limit is limited to 3000 to 5000 for full research papers and 300 to 500 for abstracts (excluding footnotes).
The Research Paper and Abstract should be in:

Times New Roman;

  • font size 12 and headings in size 14;
  • lines spacing 1.5;
  • alignment “justified”; and
  • footnotes (if any) in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single line spacing.
  • The texts and footnotes must conform to the HPNLU citation

The submission must be in document [(.doc)/(.docx)] format. The submission should contain a disclaimer that the piece is original and has not been published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions are subject to a plagiarism check.page9image2033764592

PUBLICATION OF PAPERS:

Selected papers will be published in the form of edited book. All the papers will be reviewed as per the following guidelines:

  1. Papers will be reviewed independently by at least two scholars through a double-blind peer review process, allotted on a random basis;
  2. The review will be based on the scientific rigor of the paper, the originality of the research, and its relevance to the seminar themes. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to your official email based on the review. The university may publish selected papers of high quality appropriately.

REGISTRATION FEES:
There is NO REGISTRATION FEES as the seminar is sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi. The seminar is free of cost. Participants have to arrange their own accommodation. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided during the seminar.
