Legal Awareness Programme by CDLSA under Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign: Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at Burari, Delhi | 03.10.2021

National Legal Services Authority (“NALSA”) has organised a PAN INDIA AWARENESS AND OUTREACH CAMPAIGN to reach every town and village of the country. The campaign will be from October 2, 2021 to November 14, 2021. The objective of this campaign is to reach each and every person residing in the rural and far-flung areas of the country by organising several awareness & outreach activities.

In furtherance of the objectives of this campaign, Central District Legal Services Authority (“CDLSA”) under the aegis of NALSA and Delhi State Legal Services Authority (“DSLSA”) organized a legal awareness programme at Palm Garden, 100 futa Road, Burari, Delhi.

The programme was chaired by Ms Neeti Suri Mishra, Ld. Secretary, Central District Legal Services Authority and was attended by Sh. Sagar Singh Kalsi, DCP, North District and Sh. Suresh Kumar, ACP, Timarpur. Around 60 people benefitted from this programme. Highlights of the event:-

  1. Ms Neeti Suri Mishra, Ld. Secretary CDLSA apprised the people about free legal aid services provided by CDLSA at Tis Hazari Court, informed them about the PAN INDIA AWARENESS PROGRAMME launched by NALSA, the objective of organizing the programme and about the achievements of legal Services Authorities and about the welfare schemes of Central and state governments and NALSA. She further disseminated with the help of para legal volunteers and legal aid counsels pamphlets of legal aid and of the SAMADHAN center for pre-litigation mediation of matrimonial disputes, launched at Burari by Central DLSA.
  2. Sh. Sagar Singh Kalsi, DCP, North District and Sh. Swagat Patil, ACP, Timarpur expressed their full support towards the initiatives by CDLSA and appreciated the free legal aid services provided by CDLSA.
  3. Sh. Suresh Kumar, SHO, Burari expressed his gratitude towards Secretary, CDLSA for setting up the SAMADHAN center for pre-litigation mediation of matrimonial disputes at PS, Burari.
  4. A medical health camp was organised by LNJP Doctors who provided free health check-up and medicines to those in need.
  5. A street theatre (nukkad natak) on rights of senior citizens was organised.

CDLSA under the guidance of Ms Neeti Suri Mishra, Ld. secretary, successfully carried out the legal awareness drive and was further successful in reaching and addressing the queries of those people who weren’t aware about legal aid services. The people further expressed their gratitude towards CDLSA.
