About the Book
Social security has always been a primary focus area of various plans and policies of the Government of India since independence leading to the enactment of the Code on Social Security, 2020. In spite of this, the reality in India is not much different from the rest of the developing middle-income countries. One of the major reasons for this is that the majority of the workforce is employed in unorganized sectors. This coupled with the current scenario of the pandemic has made social security one of the most needed measures of the era.
In the same backdrop, the effort of the minds behind this book is to bring the discussions and debates regarding legal protection to the concept of social security to the forefront. The aim of this book is to rejuvenate the discussion on laws related to Social Security and add well-researched views to the existing debates.
