ABOUT JOB POST:
The Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL) at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore is inviting applications from suitable candidates in the field of Environmental Law and Policy to conduct research and to participate in the work of APCEL. Suitable applications will, depending on qualifications, background and expertise, be appointed to the part-time position of Adjunct Researcher. It is not necessary to be based in Singapore for this position.

The position will carry the following benefits:
1. Employment on an Adjunct (part-time) contract at NUS Law for one year, renewable for a second year, subject to satisfactory performance.
2. A remuneration package, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
DUTIES:
The duties associated with the position are as follows:
1. The successful applicant will be expected to devote a minimum of 8 hours per week to the position.
2. The successful applicant will be expected to develop his or her own research agenda, including undertaking research projects on environmental law, leading to publication during his or her term of appointment. Such research may include, but is not limited to, the writing of articles for publication in refereed journals, contributing to book chapters in edited collections, and writing research papers.
3. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to present his or her research and to participate in and contribute to our APCEL in-house seminar series.
REQUIREMENTS:
The selection committee will consider the following criteria in making an appointment for the position of Adjunct (Research) in APCEL:
The candidate will be of exceptional calibre and have an Honours degree (or equivalent) in law or a postgraduate degree in environmental law (or an interest in pursuing such a degree in future) or demonstrate an interest in environmental law.
The principal selection criterion will be the applicant’s potential for excellence in research and a demonstrated ability and passion in assisting in the ongoing development of APCEL. The applicant should therefore submit a proposed research plan for consideration. The selection committee will consider the alignment of the proposed research with APCEL’s research strengths and priorities.
The candidate should be exceptionally organised and have an eye for detail. A strong command of the English language is required.
