25% of Husband net salary would be just and proper in alimony case

Since 2003, Husband and wife were fighting a legal battle pertaining to alimony has now come to an end. Calcutta HC ordered husband to pay wife Rs 23,000 per month as increment has done in 2016, husband is earning Rs 95,527 a month.
Incremental had challenged by Husband, SC said although there was nothing inappropriate in the high court order, still we reduced the amount by Rs 3,000 on the ground that the man had remarried and hence needed to provide for his new family.
While passing the judgment court set the bench mark that Twenty-five per cent of the husband’s net salary would be just and proper to be awarded as maintenance.
