About Us
GNLU is a premier institute of legal education set up in the year 2003 by an Act of the State Legislature. The University is committed to achieving the highest possible standards of excellence, and produce students with necessary skills to be good lawyers. One aspect of this growth is by way of developing practical and innovative solutions to legal issues in the form of participation in moot court competitions. To foster this commitment to the activity of mooting, the University organises two moot court competitions – the GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC) and the GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law (GNLUMSIL), both marked by increased growth in their popularity and standards every year.
Since its inception in 2015, GNLUMSIL has garnered much praise for filling a void in the Indian mooting scene by providing an opportunity for research and student advocacy in the field of securities and investment law. In a short span, the moot came to form an important part of discourse in securities and investment law, focusing on important problem areas in the law, attracting the brightest minds from 44 universities from all across the country in its previous edition. Over the years, the moot has also seen successful collaborations with the Bombay Stock Exchange – Investors’ Protection Fund, National Securities Depositories Limited, Finsec Law Advisors, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., RegStreet Law Advisors, Lex Witness, Manupatra, CLA Online, Lawctopus, and SCC Online.
Preparations are underway for another stellar edition of GNLUMSIL and the Organizing Committee endeavours to achieve higher standards with respect to every aspect of the competition. Keeping in mind our objective of providing a platform to young minds to explore these niche areas of law and the current issues, We cordially invite your institution to be a part of this experience and participate in the 7th edition of GNLUMSIL!
