3rd UPES International Energy Law Judgment Writing Competition: Register by Feb 25
About
In the words of Socrates, four things belong to a judge- to hear courteously, to proceed wisely, to consider soberly, and to decide impartially. Thus, many judges across the world have considered judgment writing to be the most demanding and challenging part of judicial life.
On enrolling oneself as a law student, a person may get various opportunities to hone his/ her analytical, oratory and written skills. In pursuance of the same, students see opportunities knocking in the form of moot court competitions, client counselling, negotiation, mediation, apart from paper presentations and publications.
With a similar agenda, the School of Law, took the initiative of conducting competitions and events for students and professionals across the globe to help them explore their skills in legal writing including legal drafting, case comment and others.
Though, a moot court competition does not culminate in a judgment, but, realizing the fact that judgment writing assumes an equal importance within the ambit of legal writing, and to make this judgment writing creative and rewarding, the School of Law chose to conduct the 1st and 2nd UPES International Energy Law Judgment Writing Competition, in 2016 and 2017, based on the compromis based stipulated for the respective year’s moot court competition.
Appreciating the response that we received for the competition previously, the School of Law is organizing the 3rd UPES International Energy Law Judgment Writing Competition, 2018, which is based on the compromis of the 8th Dr. Paras Diwan Memorial International Energy Law Moot Court Competition, 2018.
