Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam is organizing its 2nd Damodaram Sanjivayya National Moot Court Competition (DSNMC).
The theme of this yearâs competition is âCompetition lawâ.
The DSNMC will be held on 6–8th March, 2015 at Visakhapatnam.
Eligibility Criteria:
Law schools/Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities, recognized by the Bar Council of India, are eligible to participate in the DSNMC. The participants should currently be pursuing their Bachelorâs degree in law i.e., Three Year or Five Year Law Courses. Students who have completed their law courses are not eligible to participate in the competition.
Only one team can register from a particular law school/College/ Institution/ University to participate in the DSNMC.
There shall be two speakers and one researcher designated for each team. In case of illness of the designated speaker, the researcher may be allowed to argue for the team with prior permission of the DSNMC Committee.
Registration:
The Participating team shall duly fill the Registration Form provided along with the official rules and send it along with a Registration fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand only). The Registration fee shall be sent through Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, DSNLU payable at Visakhapatnam. The last date for receiving the registration form with fee shall be 12th January, 2015.
The participants are required to submit two passport size photographs of each team member along with the registration form.
Each team shall be allotted a Team Code on the receipt of registration fee and form. The Draw of Lots for the Preliminary rounds shall be drawn by the DSNMC Committee on 20th February, 2015 and the opponent memorial shall be mailed to the respective teams by 23rd February, 2015.
The name of the Institution shall not be disclosed at the time of submission of memorials. Any such disclosure shall lead to disqualification.
Awards:
The winning Team shall be awarded a Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 30,000/-.
The Runners up Team shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/-.
The Best Memorial Award carries books worth Rs. 4,000/- for each member of the team.
The Best Speaker of the DSNMC (Preliminary Rounds) will get a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-.
The Best Speaker of the DSNMC Final Round will get a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-.
Important Dates:
Release of moot Problem: 3rd November, 2014.
Last date for registration: 12th January, 2015.
Last Date for clarification of problem: 17th January, 2015.
Last date for submission of the memorials (Soft copy): 15th February 2015.
Last date for submission of the memorials (Hard copy): 25th February, 2014.
Competition Dates: 6th-8th March 2015.
