About the Institute

Centre for Legal Studies has been set up by Gitarattan International Business School in the year 2016 for imparting legal education. Gitarattan International Business School (GIBS) was established in the year 2004. GIBS is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and is approved by Bar Council of India for Law programmes and All India Council for Technical Education for Management programmes.

About the Competition

It’s a matter of privilege to call the Lok Sabha at Centre for Legal Studies, Gitarattan International Business School, Delhi on the 28 – 29 November 2020.We extend our invitation and welcome you for this session of the Youth Parliament. The law-making bodies are required to discuss various local, national and international issues and then make suitable laws on them. The members of these bodies present all points of views and try to represent all kinds of interests related to a problem. An effort is always made to take such a decision as would please most and antagonise least. Such decisions are frequently taken by Parliament. The decisions of Parliament are important since they affect the whole country. Each one of us is affected by the decisions of Parliament. The decisions are the result of long drawn debates. For conducting debates in Parliament a detailed procedure of rules is followed and in the same line efforts are made by Centre for Legal Studies, Gitarattan International Business School, to conduct its 1st edition of National Youth Parliament Competition to be held on 28 – 29 November 2020 on virtual platform. The rules are based on democratic principles. By these rules, it is to ensure that everybody gets a chance to be heard and a proper decorum is maintained in the course of discussion that take place in Parliament.

GENERAL RULES:
Any kind of nuisance, vulgar language, non parliamentary language would directly lead to disqualification.
CLS-GIBS reserves the right to alter or change the rules or the procedure of the event.
No request for the change of the portfolio would be entertained.
Non-compliance of the rules, would lead to disqualification of the members on the discretion of the judges.
English shall be the official and working language of the committee during formal and informal debate.
Use of Webcam/Face Camera (Device used by participant) while speaking is mandatory
Every participant has to make sure that they have a proper internet connection with Camera and Microphone. In case of poor signals
or black out from participants, they will not be given any additional time or any other compensation. And it shall be deemed that the
participant goes away from the event. CLS-GIBS shall not be held responsible for connectivity issues of any kind.
Note: The Rule Book shall be given to the participants after Registration.
