SC sought response from Shahabuddin

On September 11, RJD controversial leader Shahabuddin had been walked out of the Bhagalpur special Central Jail after a decade.
Bail was granted to Shahabuddin by Patna High Court which has been challenged by Senior Advocate, Prashant Bhushan and Bihar Govt. in Apex Court.
Apex Court haven’t granted any interim stay on his bail order passed by Patna High Court.
Today, SC sought response from Shahabuddin & listed the matter for next Monday i.e. 26 September. Bench headed by PC Ghose & Amritava Roy said “We intend to give him having hearing also. List to Monday.”
Prashant Bhushan is representing Chandrakeshwar Prasad whose three son’s were allegedly killed by Shahabuddin and he was termed for life for two deaths. While the trial of third alleged killing is yet to commence and latest bail order has come in the third murder case.
Prashant Bhushan said ” Shahabuddin is a notorious criminal and reign of terror has been reinstated in Siwan particularly.”
” He has been convicted in eight out of fifty eight pending cases against him.”
Bhushan is also relied on various case laws highlighted that criminal antecedent of an offender should be consider before granting bail.
Bihar Government also support Bhushan’s contentions while seeking Non Bailable warrant against Shahabuddin.
