SC put ban on sale of fire-crackers

SC banned on the sale of  of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR in view of increasing Air pollution steadily in Delhi. Accordingly, the licences of the existing firecrackers sellers will be suspended and the government will not issue new licences to any seller in this region. No one can sell or stock fire crackers.
The petition by the three children had said: “Our lungs have not yet fully developed and we cannot take further pollution through bursting of crackers.”
“Some individuals who have leftover crackers from Diwali can burst them but no one can bring crackers from outside Delhi, because it needs a licence,” petitioner’s lawyer said. The court has also asked the Central Pollution Control Board to submit a report within three months on the harmful effects of making crackers.
