Chandrakeshwar Prasad alias Chanda Babu, whose three sons were murdered allegedly by Shahabuddin and his associates, he filed a Petition before the Supreme Court for transfer of Shahabuddin from Bihar’s Siwan jail to Tihar jail as he is getting special treatment there.
Today, Supreme Court allow the Petition and grant the relief in favor of Petitioner for transfer of Shahabuddin, gave the state government a week to complete the transfer. It also ordered the pending trials in the cases against Shahabuddin be done via video conferencing.
Shahabuddin’s took a plea that moving him out of Bihar violates his fundamental rights. The court said the interest of society is more important and rejected the plea.
