SC directed Govt's to implement the direction to play national anthem in all cinemas before the screening of a film

Today, Supreme Court said that national anthem must be played in all cinema halls across the country before the screening of a film and people should stand up as a mark of respect.
Bench headed by Dipak Misra and Amitava Roy  said citizen should take pride in national anthem and they should be taught how to sing national anthem. Bench further said that “People must feel this is my country and this is my motherland,” while stressing that it is the duty of every citizen of the country to show respect to the national anthem and the flag.
“People now-a-days don’t know how to sing national anthem and people must be taught. We must respect national anthem,” the Apex court said.
The Centre and states have been given 10 days to implement the court’s order. The Centre said it will circulate the order to all states’ chief secretaries and will also publish it in the electronic and print media.
