On Friday, R. Muthukumarswamy, senior advocate appointed as Advocate General of Tamil Nadu by Governor of Tamil Nadu after few hours when Ex- Advocate General of Tamil Nadu Mr. A.C. Samayaji tendered his resignation.
- R. Muthukumarswamy obtained his law degree from Madras Law College & enrolled as Advocate on 1 August, 1973.
- He was a Special Court Pleader of Madras High Court in 1994, thereafter, he became Government Pleader in 1995.
- He was also appointed as Central Government Senior Standing Counsel during 1998-1999. After that, he designated as Senior Advocate in 2001.
