RGNUL National Book Review Writing and Case Comment Competition 2016

Literary & Debating Committee of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab is pleased to announce its 1st National Book Review and Case Comment Competition. This event will test your analytical skills and prowess in reviewing a book and Landmark Cases. Every book and Case has multiple facets, but for the purposes of this competition, only the legal analysis will be taken into account.
Rules and Guidelines for the Competition:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The Competition is open to the students who are pursuing their B.A.LLB./LL.M./Ph.D. or any other Undergraduate or Master courses (other than Law) in any university.

Length of Book Review and Case Comment;
The Book Review should not be more than 1000 words (excluding Footnotes).
The Case Comment should not be more than 1000 -2000 words (excluding Footnotes).
Footnotes must conform to the authoritative standard rules of legal citation and must include a description of each authority adequate enough to allow a reasonable reader to identify and locate the authority in a publication of general circulation.
REGISTRATION FEES & HARD COPY SUBMISSION:
Registration Fees for Case Comment Rs. 500 per entry
Registration Fees for Book Review Rs. 500 per entry
In case of Co –Authors Rs. 800
Registration fees by demand draft in the name of “Registrar, RGNUL, Punjab” payable at Patiala must reach on or before 25th April 2016 on the address mentioned below along with the single side printed hard copy of the Book Review or Case Comment and Registration Form.
ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION: The participants should mail at [email protected] the following the attachments-
Book Review and Case Comment in MS Word format with subject “Book Review or Case Comment”- Name of Author(s)
Registration form
Cover Letter containing name of participant, address, e-mail-id, contact number and name of college/university with address and class
Identity card of the student
PRIZES (For Case Comment & Book Review Competitions each)
First Prize – Rs. 3000/-
Second Prize –Rs. 2500/-
Third Prize – Rs. 1500/-
RGNUL Students will only be eligible for Publication and Certificate of Merit. The name of the winners will be displayed on www.rgnul.ac.in. Separate intimation will also be sent to each winner. Certificate of Participation will be awarded to all the participants.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Deadline for Submission 18th April 2016
Result Declaration 25 th May 2016
Late submissions will not be entertained.
PUBLICATION:
Top 15 selected Book Reviews and Case Comments will be published in the form of an edited book with an ISBN No. with a reputed Book Publishing House. Complimentary copy of the Edited book will be given to all those authors whose Book Review and Case Comments are published.
