Maharashtra government relaxes loudspeaker limit till midnight for last 3 days of Navratri

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced permission for operation of loudspeakers till midnight on the last three days of Navratri. A delegation of BJP led by minister of state for women and child development Vidya Thakur and Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar made a representation to Fadnavis in this regard.
As per a Supreme Court verdict, there is a ban on use of loudspeakers after 10pm, but the state government in its authority, can permit relaxation of this limit to midnight for 15 days in a year.
Shelar said the state government had allowed the use of loudspeakers till midnight on the last five days of Ganeshotsav, which was recently celebrated throughout the state without any untoward incident. On the same lines, he insisted that the chief minister allow for Navratri too, he added.
Fadnavis accepted the demand and assured the delegation that he would pass on directions to the authorities concerned.
Thanking the CM, Shelar said devotees and enthusiasts will now be able to enjoy Dandiya Raas and traditional games during Navratri till midnight on the last three days of the festival.
