The Environmental Club at K. R. Mangalam University is committed to inspiring eco-conscious behaviour, raising environmental awareness, and promoting sustainable solutions within the community. Through various activities and initiatives, the club empowers students to take personal responsibility for protecting and preserving the environment while fostering a commitment to sustainability. By providing opportunities for hands-on participation in service projects, the club aims to develop social and life skills while creating unpolluted surroundings and instilling environmental consciousness that extends beyond the university.

The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The Centre of excellence for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at a university plays a pivotal role in advancing global sustainability efforts through interdisciplinary research, education, and community engagement.

The centre integrates SDG principles into the university’s curriculum, promotes sustainability in campus operations, and supports initiatives that aim to create positive impacts both locally and globally. Through its comprehensive approach, the centre not only enhances academic and practical understanding of sustainable development but also empowers the next generation of leaders to contribute effectively towards a more equitable and resilient world.

The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is constituted:

  • To Raise awareness of the SDGs and their importance
  • To Provide education and training on the SDGs To Support research and innovation on the SDGs
  • Advocating for policies and practices that support the SDGs
  • Measuring progress towards the SDGs and Building partnerships to achieve the SDGs

The Centre has also initiated research and publish books on all the 17 SDG’s Goals. University has actively published articles/ research papers under SDG 2, 3, 7, 8, 9,11,20,17. Aligning the activities and events with SDGs for impact and awareness. Offering of Value-Added Course and Open Electives on environment sustainability. Engaging students in various field visits and outreach program for fostering skills towards sustainableĀ future.

About the conference

The environmental club, in collaboration with the centre of excellence for sustainable development goals, is organising a two-day international conference titled ā€œRising to the Climate challenge: Action, Innovation and Resilienceā€. This Hybrid event aims to bring together researchers, academician’s, policymakers, students, environmentalists, and industry experts from around the world to engage in meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange around the most pressing climate- related challenges.

  3. Sustainable Solutions and Green Technologies
  4. Climate Justice and Societal Impact
  5. Impact of Climate Change and Sustainable Agricultural Practices.

Submission Guidelines for Abstract:

  1. Abstracts should be 300 words or less and must provide a clear overview of the research objectives, methodology, and key findings.
  2. All submissions will undergo a rigorous review process to ensure quality and relevance.
  3. Accepted papers will have the opportunity for presentation during dedicated sessions or inclusion in the conference proceedings.

Submission Guidelines for Full Paper:

  1. The length of a full paper should be 3000- 5000 words (15-20 pages). The author(s) are to submit one hard copy of the manuscript on an A4 sheet along with one soft copy in MS Word.
  2. Use British spellings throughout: ‘programme’ not ‘program’, ‘organisation’ not ‘organization’, ‘behaviour’ not ‘behavior’.
  3. References are to be given separately at the end of the manuscript and the entries should be arranged alphabetically. The word ‘References’ should appear as a heading.
  4. For citation and references APA Rule of footnoting should be followed.
  5. Footnote on the first page is to bear Designation, Institution, email address; Font size: 8; Running.
  6. Sub-part, if any, are to be serially numbered in lowercase English alphabets as (a), (b), (c), (d), and un-bold. Any further sub-parts are to be serially numbered in small roman numerals (i), (ii), iii), (iv) and un-bold.
  7. The margin on all four sides is to be 1 inch.
