From a longtime there has been a huge tussle between Delhi Government and lieutenant Governor. Yesterday, while hearing a matter before it, Supreme Court made a comment that Delhi Government should also have powers otherwise they will not able to perform their functions effectively.
The Bench of Supreme Court said this case should be expeditiously disposed. The court made this in a appeal filed by AAP Party against the order passed by Delhi High Court in which the court made lieutenant Governor with supreme powers.
Supreme Court fixed final date for the Verdict of this matter on 18 January 2017 and the hearing will be detailed, no interim order would be passed.
