Last month, Gujrat High Court granted bail to Hardik Patel, a convenor of Patidar Andolan Samiti with the condition that he will remain out of state for six months.
He now moves a Habeas Corpus writ petition to Rajasthan High Court, challenging the police confining him at his temporary residence which he says amounts to “House Arrest”.
He said “Police officers intentionally misinterpreted the order passed by Gujrat High Court by wrongfully confining him at congress leader’s house.”
Bench Compromising of G.K. Vyas, at its principal seat in Jodhpur issued notices to State Government and State Police for seeking replies by September 2, when the case comes up for further hearing.
Patel alleged that heavy police force comprising of over 20 personnel was deployed outside his temporary residence & CCTV has been installed .
He also said “A false case of not paying toll tax was also registered against him.”
