Former MLA Ranveer Yadav, had shot at Sunil, wounding him critically at Chukti village under Beldaur police station in Khagaria district on December 6, 1988, following an argument between the two over grazing of goats. Interestingly, Two years later, in 1990, Yadav contested and won the Assembly polls as an Independent from Khagaria.
FIR lodged by police against Yadav on the basis of Sunil’s dying declaration on the day of the incident itself.
Today, Additional District Judge Phool Singh sentenced him to life imprisonment in a murder case and a fine of Rs 50,000 imposed on him after finding him guilty.
