The Madurai bench of Madras High Court has ruled in favour of a Deputy Superintendent of Police of prohibition and enforcement wing in Tirunelveli. The promotion to the post of ASP was denied from the DSP.
As DSP Jayachandran who was on medical leave for one and half year because of an accident on August 25, 2014. In the meanwhile, the superintendent of police (SP) of Tirunelveli on March in which he labeled various charges against DSP. It was further said that DSP took the medical leave without prior permission.
Jayachandran moved the bench last year, following which it stayed the charge memo.
In the hearing the petitioner told the bench that due to the charge memo and on instigation from former DGP and current CIC, the petitioner’s name was omitted.
Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana passed the judgment in favour of the petitioner after hearing.
