Breaking: I &B minsitry put on hold the one-day ban on NDTV's Hindi channel after NDTV approached SC

Supreme Court will to hear NDTV’s appeal tomorrow against the ban, before thatĀ Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu put on hold the one-day ban on NDTV’s Hindi channel which has been widely protested by the media.
Earlier, ministry putĀ one day ban i.e on November 9 of its Hindi channel for its coverage of the Pathankot terror attack by saying thatĀ coverage shown by NDTV violated the broadcasting norms. It said that the channel gave out sensitive information that could have been used by the handlers of the terrorists involved in the attack. However, Ā NDTV refuted the allegations and pointed out that other channels and newspapers reported the same information.
After a large protest held by journalists from every major media organization in Delhi, the Press Club of India said the government’s action amounts to “uncalled for censorship” at a time when “press freedom is already under increasing threat in the country.”
All the representatives and journalists related to media and journalis,Ā gave a clarion call to the fraternity for a united fight for freedom of the press.
