Allahabad HC stuck down the practice of Triple Talaq

Yesterday, While hearing a petition filed by a woman who claimed her husband arbitrarily divorced her. To which, Allahabad high court held Islamic term for giving divorce ‘talaq’ three successive times i.e. Triple Talaq “unconstitutional” and called it a violation of the rights of Muslim women.
HC said “Triple talaq is unconstitutional; it violates the rights of Muslim women. No Personal Law Board is above the Constitution,” said by Allahabad high court while stucking down the said practice.
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) would likely and most probably look to challenged the Allahabad HC order.
In the meantime, SC was also hearing a petition challenging the validity of triple talaq, as several individuals and NGOs have sought a ban on its practice. Centre’s put his opposition against the said practice that it is overriding the constitution.
