Orders of Bombay HC pertaining to Jolly LLb 2 has challenged in SC

Petitioner, Ajaykumar Waghmare, filed a petition in the Bombay High Court alleging that certain scenes in the movie depict the judiciary and the legal professional in a bad light, for this which the High Court formed the committee to watch the movie and submit a report on the same. Petiotiomer also sought the court to drop the word LLB from the title of the movie.
This was challenged by producers of the movie. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who was representing Fox Star Studios argued before the bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar that there was nothing objectionable in the film.
He also challenge the watching of film by committee as the U/A certificate has been granted to the film by the statutory body. However, Supreme court said the Producers to approach the Bombay High Court against earlier order appointing a panel to review the movie. Fixed next date for hearing i.e. 7 February.
In 2013 also, the original Jolly LLB, starring Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, faced the same problems from lawyers in Meerut.
