Charges for Defamation against Delhi CM has been framed

Charges for Defamation under section 499 & 500 IPC has been framed against Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, it was framed in court headed by Metropolitan Magistrate Harvinder Singh.
Defamation was alleged by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri against Kejriwal that he had defamed him in an interview to a news channel. Kejriwal pleaded not guilty and stated that he will contest the case. He further stated that he had no intention to defame the BJP lawmaker.
Court granted a leave to Kejriwal permanent exemption from personal appearance in the case. The court, however, said the AAP politician may be asked to appear personally in the case, if the need arose.
This Court granted bail to CM on July 8 after he appeared before it and furnished a personal bond of Rs 10,000.
The court has fixed the date for next hearing on December 23.
