Allahabad Court issued notice to Markandey Katju for making objectionable comments on Beef ban

Former Supreme Court Judge, Mr. Markandey Katju has been encircled with the allegations that he made “objectionable” remarks with regard to consumption of beef in his blog posts which hurts the sentiments of Hindu, to which notice issued to him by Additional sessions judge Shuchi Srivastava of Allahabad, Court passed the order on the review petition of advocate Rakesh Nath Pandey.
Earlier it was turned down by Chief Judicial Magistrate whereby the prayer for directing the police to lodge an FIR against justice Katju.
Katju in his Facebook post wrote that he had a “danda” (stick) with which he wished to hit those who made a fuss over the issue of cow slaughter and beef.
From his posts and interviews it has been crystal clear that he is not in favor of beef ban as he made several controversial and scathing comments on beef ban.
Court asked justice Katju to file his reply by November 18, the next date of hearing.
