Shahabuddin's case to be heard on Wednesday

Today, the Day for the hearing of Shahabuddin’s Case in Supreme Court. As Senior Lawyer, Ram Jethmalani who would argue for Shahabuddin was not available.
Lawyer on behalf of Mr. Jethmalani, representing Shahabuddin, urged that the matter be taken up on Friday as Jethmalani was not available and moreover voluminous case records needed to be studied for proper defence.
Senior advocate Shekhar Naphade, also appearing for Shahabuddin said his client is suffering  from media trial and asked more time to prepare for his defence. However, the plea was rejected by the court and fixed it on Wednesday.
Apex Court asked him to be ready on Wednesday to justify why his bail should not be revoked. Further   “Since there are allegations and counter allegations being made in the case, we shall not pass any order without hearing both the sides. We are fixing it on Wednesday (September 28),” the bench said.
On further plea of non-availability of Jethmalani on Wednesday, the date fixed for hearing, the court said “let us start on that day and we will also hear him (Jethmalani) thereafter”.
On September 11,  Shahabuddin had been walked out of the Bhagalpur special Central Jail after a decade.
Bail was granted to Shahabuddin by Patna High Court which has been challenged by Senior Advocate, Prashant Bhushan is representing Chandrakeshwar  Prasad (whose three sons were allegedly killed by the Shahabuddin), his wife Kalawati and Bihar Govt. in Apex Court.
Kalawati Devi challenging the bail granted to Shahabuddin in twin murder case in which he has been awarded life term. Other two appeals pertaining to grant of bail by the Patna High Court in the murder case of Rajiv Roshan, the sole witness of murder of his two younger siblings.
All the  three appeals were listed for today.
