PIL seeking appointment of Lokpal and Lokayukt

Petitioner, Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay filed a Public Interest Litigation in Supreme Court for the appointment of Lokpal in Centre and Lokayukt in all States.
Lokpal andLokayukt Act, 2013 received President’s assent on 1 January, 2014 & came in to force from 16 January, 2014 which states that there should be Lokpal in Centre and Lokayukt in all States despite of that executive has not established a body to be called Lokpal. Lokayukt is also vacant in many states.
Petitioner contended that State Government is not inclined to established the body by not providing proper infrastructure, sufficient budget & work force. Even the post of superintendent of police is vacant in many districts.
Above said act states that there should be an established body i.e. Lokayukta within one year from the day of commencement of act which is still vacant in many states till  now & many states haven’t passed Lokayukta Act in accordance with above said act.
Petitioner wants SC to direct Centre and all States to Appoint Lokpal and Lokayukt respectively.
Bench headed by Justice Rajan Gagoi and Justice Prafulla C. Pant is expected to hear the PIL on September 14.
