Naushad, a resident of shakurpur approach Delhi High Court on a plea that Delhi Govt. should compensate for a loss of life of his son, whose life was cut short due to negligence on the part of Delhi Govt. & PWD.
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva asked Delhi Govt. & PWD to respond for the plea for compensation by a man who lost his nine year son after he fell in to drain in May.
In a report Superintendent of PWD expressly stated that “field staff was confused about the territorial jurisdiction of the road/area due to frequent changes, transfers & reshuffling in department.”
Superintendent also stated that “the slabs covering drain were stolen by mischievous person or broken due to heavy traffic then not covered due to confusion over jurisdiction.”
Naushad and his wife are tailor and could earn only 15000/- per month & they have two daughters.
Counsel of Naushad stated that “if AAP govt. Can give 1 crore each to the murdered kin of NDMC official and NIA official then they should also compensate for Naushad’s son too.”
“The death of Govt. officials is nothing to do with government but Anas (Naushad’s Son) died due to negligence” said Naushad.
